Men's Soccer: Four Raiders Named to All-Ohio Teams

2018 Academic All-Ohio Teams

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association has released its 2018 All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio Awards teams with Mount Union's men's soccer team represented by two Raiders in senior defensemen Joe Winiecki (Stow) and junior goalkeeper Zach Hlas (Medina) being selected to the first and second All-Ohio teams. Four Raiders landed spots on the Academic All-Ohio team in Winiecki and Hlas receiving first team honors while junior defensemen Tyler Cooper (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and senior midfielder Colton Harsh (Ravenna/Southeast) named to the second team. 

Winiecki was named All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team and All-OAC Tournament selection. With four goals, Winiecki was one of Mount Union's top scorers this season and a key defender for the team.

Hlas, a 2017 honorable mention recipient, had a record setting season in goal for the Raiders as he logged 1676:36 with 48 saves that led the conference in save percentage (.828). Tying the single-season record in shutouts (10), Hlas also set a new single-season record in goals against average (0.54).

Harsh, an OAC All-Tournament team selection, was one of Mount Union's key scorers along with Winiecki. Harsh finished the season with four goals and 16 shots on goal. 

Overy led the Mount Union defense that remained at the top of the conference in goals against average at 0.53 and was selected to the OAC Honorable Mention team. 

The Purple Raiders finished third in the OAC with a conference record of 5-3-1 and an overall record of 13-4-1.
