Men's Soccer: Wikle's Goal Leads to Mount Union Upset of #18 Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH, Pa.—Mount Union's men soccer team upset No. 18 Carnegie Mellon 1-0 Friday night in Pittsburgh.

The Purple Raiders got their goal from sophomore Rylan Wikle (Olmsted Falls) in the 59th minute off passes from senior Jon Schroeder ( Parma / Normandy ) and sophomore Christian Egan ( Monongahela, Pa. / Ringgold).

Senior goalkeeper Zach Hlas (Medina) recorded his second shutout of the year with one save on the game.

Mount Union (2-0-1) and Carnegie Mellon (1-2) both had four shots in the game.

Mount Union next plays at Hiram Wednesday, September 11th at 7:30 p.m.
