Men's Soccer: #19 Raiders Tie #12 John Carroll To Pick Up Point

ALLIANCE, Ohio—No. 19 Mount Union fought to a 0-0 double overtime tie against No. 12 John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup between a pair of nationally ranked teams Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders picked up a point in the conference standings as they are now 7-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 (4 pts.) in the OAC, while John Carroll is 8-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 (4 pts.) in the OAC.

In a game that put a premium on defense, Mount Union held John Carroll to only one shot on goal on the night as senior goalkeeper Zach Hlas (Medina) stood strong for the Raiders in getting his second straight and sixth shutout of the season.

Senior Tyler Cooper (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) led the Raiders with three shots.

Mount Union stays home hosting Wilmington in an OAC matchup Saturday, October 12 at 1p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
