Carter Poe is in his third season as head men's soccer coach at Mount Union.

In 2016, he led the Raiders to back-to-back appearances in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time in school history.

In 2015, the Raiders posted a winning record and qualfied for the OAC Tournament for the first time since 2013.

Poe spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Purple Raiders.

He played college soccer at NCAA Division I Duquesne (Pa.) University where he was team captain in both his junior and senior seasons.

After college, he was a two-year captain playing professionally for AFC Cleveland where he led the team to a 2012 Great Lakes Division conference championship and national quarterfinal appearance in 2013 where he earned Team MVP honors. 

Poe also has coaching experience including being the current head coach of AFC Cleveland and leading them to the National Premier Soccer League championship in 2016. 

He has also worked at the Cleveland Soccer Academy as well as a trainer at Force Indoor Sports and has an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

A 2008 graduate of West Geauga High School, Poe was a four-year letterwinner, two-time team captain and all-state player.

A native of Chesterland, Ohio, Poe earned his bachelor's degree from Duquesne in 2013 and a master's degree in educational leadership from Mount Union in 2015.
