MEET RECAP- Men’s Swimming And Diving Falls At Florida Tech
MELBOURNE, Florida - - Men's Swimming and Diving lost for only the second time this season with 138-67 loss to Florida Tech in a non-conference swim meet Sunday afternoon (Jan 6.).
With the win, Florida Tech improves to 3-2 record, while Mount Union falls to 6-2.
Sophomore Hayden Birnbrich (Pataskala/Columbus St. Charles Prep) took first place in the 50 yard freestyle (22.62) and swam the third leg in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:30.56) that finished in first place and had teammates seniors Rob Brocious (Mentor/Mentor), Mike Greisl (South Euclid/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) and freshman Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon).
Brocious finished the longest event of the afternoon, the 1000 yard freestyle (10:12.66) in first place.
Freshman Logan Rogers (Hartville/Archbishop Hoban) finished the 50 yard freestyle in second place (23.31), as the Purple Raiders finished 1-2 in that event.
The Raiders return to the Hammond Natatorium this Saturday (Jan 7.) for an Ohio Athletic Conference meet against Ohio Northern at 1:00 p.m.
