Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Place Third at OAC Championships; Ineson Breaks School Record

2017 Mount Union Men's Placers

OAC Championship

AKRON, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team took home third place honors at the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship Saturday night at the University of Akron.

Mount Union placed third with 637 points while John Carroll placed first with 806 points and Ohio Northern placed second with 704 points.

The Purple Raiders were paced by Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron) who broke a school record in the 200 yard breaststroke.

Ineson placed second in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:06.15.

Others earning All-OAC honors were Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell)  who placed second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.52, Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) who placed third in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.77, Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) placed first in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:56.38, and Brian Walker (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) placed third in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:55.69.

In relay action, Ineson, Palochak, Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst Steele), and Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst Steele) placed third in the 400 yard freestyle relay with at ime of 3:08.18.
 

The top three finishers in individual events and the top two relay teams in each event earn All-OAC conference honors.
