Men's Swimming and Diving: Purple Raiders Drop OAC Opener at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Mount Union men's swimming and diving team lost a road meet to John Carroll 163-128 Saturday in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener. 

Leading the way for the Purple Raiders were senior Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) and junior Kyle Greig (Mentor/Mentor) who both won two events on the day. Fry won both the 100-yard (53.41) and the 200-yard (2:01.77) backstroke events while Greig won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 152.55 and 142.60.

Also winning events were freshman Zachary Grebert (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton and senior Brian Walker (Cincinnati/Oak Hills). Grebert won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:21.09) while Walker won the 200-yard IM (2:03.49).

Next week, Mount Union welcomes Oberlin to Alliance for a dual meet Saturday, November 11 at 1 p.m. at Hammond Natatorium.
