WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team holds seventh place with a score of 463 after day two of the Wooster Invitational on Friday in the Timken Natatorium.
Senior Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) led the Purple Raiders with a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 51.46
Fry was also a member of two relay teams on the day. In the 200 medley relay that placed eighth, Fry was teamed with junior Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron), sophomore Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) and freshman Mark Silver (Painesville/Riverside) which swam in the time of 1:37.35. Fry, Ineson and Walker also swam the 800 freestyle relay with sophomore Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) where they finished in ninth with a time if 7:15.11.
Palochak also had a sixth place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 52.39. Ellsworth had a time of 4:17.07 in the 400 yard IM which placed him in 11th in the event. Also on the day, Ineson swam the 100 yard breaststroke to a time of 1:01.43 where he finished 15th.
The final day of the Wooster Invitational is Saturday with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and finals beginning at 5 p.m.
