Men's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Loses Close Meet at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Wooster 147-133 Saturday afternoon at the Timken Natatorium.

The Raiders were led by senior Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) and junior Jack Ineson (Huron) who each recorded two individual wins on the day. 

Fry won in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 51.93 while also winning the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.06. Ineson recorded wins in the 200 yard breastroke with a time of 2:16.93 and the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:02.27. 

Sophomore Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) scored the first win on the day for the Raiders as he won the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:15.15. The only other win of the day for the Raiders swimmers came from sophomore Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.12.

In diving, sophomore Jacob Barton (Madison) scored 146.3 points in the three meter dive to score the team nine points.

The Raiders will remain on the road as they travel to Westminster Saturday, February 3 at 1 p.m.
