ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team begins their season with a dual meet against Malone University Friday, October 19 at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

Head coach Eric Mojock starts his 12th season at the helm of the program as the Purple Raiders return 14 letterwinners and three student-athletes that earned All-OAC honors a year ago.

Juniors Logan Palochak (Hopewell) and Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) each were members of the 400 medley relay team that finished second and collected All-OAC honors with a time of 3:25.48.

Palochak also set a school record with a second place time of 50.42 in the 100 butterfly.

Ellsworth set a school record with a first place finish in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 15:59.81. The Temperance, Michigan product also nabbed All-OAC accolades in the 400 IM with a time of 4:10.60 and as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team that finished second with a time of 7:00.67.

Sophomore Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) was also on that all-conference 800 free relay team.

Mojock brings in 15 new swimmers join the team this winter who will look to make an impact in their first collegiate action.

Mount Union's home opener will be Saturday, November 3 against John Carroll in Hammond Natatorium at 1 p.m.
