CANTON, Ohio --Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team traveled to Malone Friday night and left with a 178-111 win at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Leading Mount Union was junior Logan Palochak (Hopewell) and freshman Ronnie Milam (Uniontown/Lake). Palochak won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly while Milam collected first place in 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Palochak was a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak), Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) and Mark Silver (Painesville/Riverside) who collected a time of 1:28.89. Palochak was also a memeber of the 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls), Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) and Mark Silver (Painesville/Riverside)
Also with first-place finishes was junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) and freshmen Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton), Ben Hoffmann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Technical), Owen Zimmerman (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont) and Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson). Ellsworth placed first in the 500-yard freestyle while the four freshmen swam first place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke respectively.
Next up, the Purple Raiders compete in a dual meet with Hiram on Saturday, October 20 at 1 p.m.
