Men's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Swims Past Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio-Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team swam past Hiram today with a 163-65 victory at Alumni Memorial Pool. 

Leading the way for Mount Union was junior Logan Palochak (Hopewell). Palochak collected victories in the 50-meter breaststroke and 50-meter backstroke. Palochak was also a relay member in the 200-meter relay and 200-meter freestyle. 

Also with first-place finishes was senior Kyle Greig (Mentor), juniors Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak) and Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford), sophomores Jacob Grow (Canton/Central Catholic), and Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) along with freshmen Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph), Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North) and Ronnie Milam (Uniontown/Lake). Greig won in the 1-meter diving while juniors Kee and Ellsworth collected victories in the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle respectively. 

Sophomore Grow won in the 50-meter backstroke with fellow classmate Currey recorded a time of 1:02.85 in the 100-meter butterfly. Currey was also a swimmer in the 200-meter medley relay along with Palochak. 

The trio of freshmen claimed victories in the 100-meter breaststroke, 800-meter freestyle and 3-meter diving. 

Mount Union travels to New Wilmington, Pa. on Friday, October 26 to participate in the Westminster (Pa.) Relays at 6 p.m.
