Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Place First at Westminster (Pa.) Relays

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Mount Union's men's swimming and diving squad claimed their third victory of the season placing first at the Westminster (Pa.) Relays Friday night. 

The Purple Raiders finished the event with a team score of 132 which was 22 points ahead of second place Gannon University with 110. 

Mount Union placed first in four events during the meet. The first victory came in the 3x100 yard breaststroke relay finishing with a time of 3:10.01 by freshmen Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson), Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph) and Caleb Fischer (Warsaw/River View). 

The Purple Raiders tallied a time of 4:25.74 in the 500-yard freestyle relay by freshmen Kyle Kresl (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll), Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton), Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North) and junior Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak). Scheib and Regovich also placed first in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay, joined by junior Cole Ellsworth with a time of 14:58.58. 

The final first place finish came in the 400-yard IM relay as the swimmers of senior Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls), freshmen Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph), Owen Zimmerman (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont) and Ben Hoffmann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Technical) collected a time of 3:51.06. 

Next up, Mount Union takes on John Carroll in the home opener November 3 at Hammond Natatorium with a 1 p.m. start time.
