Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Sit in Sixth after Day Two of Wooster Invite

WOOSTER, Ohio--Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team holds sixth place with a score of 515 after day two of the Wooster Invitational on Friday at Ellen Shapiro Natatorium. 

Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) placed sixth in the 500-yard freestyle with a recorded time of 4:44.03. Ellsworth later finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.96. 

Freshman Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph) finished fifth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:13.15. 

Sophomore Connor Johnson tallied a time of 2:21.22 in the mixed 200-yard IM time trial while fellow classmate Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) collected a first place finish in the mixed 200-yard freestyle. 

The final day of the Wooster Invitational is Saturday with preliminaries starting at 11 a.m. and finals beginning at 6 p.m.
