LATROBE, Pa. -- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated St. Vincent (Pa.) by a score of 152-110 Friday evening.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was freshman Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North) who collected two first-place finishes in the 100-yard and 1000-yard freestyle.
Additional first-place finishes came from freshman Ben Hoffmann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Technical) in the 50-yard backstroke, junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) in the 500-yard freestyle, fellow classmate Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) in the 50-yard butterfly and sophomore Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) in the 200-yard IM.
Hoffmann and Palochak were also members of the 200-yard medley relay that tallied a first-place time of 1:39.71 with swimmers freshman Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) and junior Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak).
Ellsworth, Kee and Palochak finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with sophomore Mark Silver (Painesville/Riverside) with a collected time of 1:28.99.
The Purple Raiders are back in action on Saturday, January 12 for a home meet against Ohio Northern with a 1 p.m. start time.
