Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Take Down Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio--Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Wilmington in Ohio Athletic Conference action by a final score of 144-106 Friday evening. 

Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was senior Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls) who won two individual races in the 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter backstroke. 

Additional first-place finishes came from freshmen Michael Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway), Brian Regovich (Eastlake), Kyle Kresl (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) and Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph) recording victories in the 800-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, 400-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly respectively. Juniors Logan Palochak (Hopewell) and Joseph Palmquist (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) tallied victories in the 200-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly while senior Michael Jeromin (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) clocked in a time of 26.12 in the 50-meter freestyle. Sophomore Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) finished first in the 200-meter breaststroke. 

Mount Union returns home to face Wooster on Saturday, Jan. 26 with a start time set for 1 p.m. in Hammond Natatorium.
