ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Westminster (Pa.) by a final score of 176-116 Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium.
Headlining individual events was junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) who recorded victories in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle as well as a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
Additional victories came from Freshman Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph) who collected victories in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke along with a clocked time of 2:02.80 in the 200-yard IM. Junior Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) tallied first-place in the 100-yard butterfly and 50-yard freestyle. Palochak was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle that placed first with sophomore Mark Silver (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell), freshman Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North) and Ellsworth.
Also in the winner's column for the Raiders was freshman Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:04.42.
The Raiders will be back in the pool February 14-16 at the University of Akron for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
