Men's Swimming and Diving: Ellsworth Sets School Record on Day Two of OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio--Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team are in third with a score of 454.5 after the second day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships from the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron.

Headlining day two for the Purple Raiders was junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) who set a Mount Union school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.03 to collect All-OAC honors.

Ellsworth was a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed third alongside freshmen Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North) and Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph).

Acosta, who placed second in 400-yard IM, clocked time of 4:07.51 to collect All-OAC accolades.

In diving events, freshman Ronnie Milam (Uniontown/Lake) tallied a score of 359.95 for third place and All-OAC Honors.  

The top three finishers in individual events and the top two relay teams in each event earn All-OAC conference honors.

Competition concludes Saturday, Feb. 16 with preliminaries at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m. at the University of Akron.
