WOOSTER, Ohio - The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team stays in second place after day two of the Wooster Invitational.
The Purple Raiders were led by freshman Nathan Williams (Columbia, S.C. / Irmo) who finished third in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:10.52
Mount Union took sixth place in the 200-yard medley with team of freshman Charles Marshall (Painesville / Riverside), sophomore Nick Dye (Massillon / Massillon Jackson), senior Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa. / Hopewell), and sophomore Brian Regovich (Willowick / Eastlake North) clocking a 1:36.01.
Junior Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) recoded a time of 52.82 in the 100-yard butterfly to grab eighth place.
In the 200-yard freestyle freshman Jason Tondra (Canton / Massillon Jackson) placed third with a 1:45.35, senior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich. / Bedford) took sixth with a 1:46.71, and Regovich coming in with a 1:48.88 to take eighth.
800-yard freestyle relay team of sophomore Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton), sophomore Michael Holmes (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway), sophomore Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y. / St. Joseph), and Marshall took eighth place finishing with a time of 7:13.00.
The final day of the Wooster Invitational is Saturday with preliminaries starting at 11 a.m.
