Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Finish in Second Place at OAC Championship

AKRON, Ohio – The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team finished in second place at the 2020 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship held at the University of Akron with a score of 799.

Senior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich. / Bedford) led the Purple Raiders with a first-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, receiving All-OAC honors, clocking a time of 15:57.15. Not far behind him was sophomore teammate, Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton), grabbing second-place with All-OAC accolades.

400-yard freestyle relay team of Williams, senior Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa. / Hopewell), Tondra, and Ellsworth took home All-OAC honors finishing 2nd recording a 3:07.05.

Freshman Charles Marshall (Painesville / Riverside) took third place in the 200-yard backstroke to earn All-OAC with personal best time of 1:53.27.

In the 100-yard freestyle, freshman Jason Tondra (Canton / Massillon Jackson) received All-OAC accolades finishing in third-place swimming a 46.38.

Freshman Nathan Williams (Columbia, S.C. / Irmo) earned All-OAC honors with a third place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:57.52.

This concludes the 2019-2020 swimming and diving season, the Raiders will return to the pool in November 2020.
