Men’s Tennis Hosts Marietta For Final Home Match Of Regular Season

Mount Union's men's tennis team hosts Marietta for its final regular season Ohio Athletic Conference home match Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 pm at the Whitehill Tennis Courts. 

Mount Union: The Purple Raiders enter Tuesday's match with an overall record of 12-5 and is tied for fifth place in the OAC with Marietta with a 3-4 record. The Raiders are coming off an 8-1 victory in their last match Saturday at Heidelberg. 

Marietta: The Pioneers enter Tuesday's match with an overall record of 8-6 and is 3-4 in the conference. The Pioneers are currently on a two match losing streak with losses against Otterbein (7-2) and in their last match at John Carroll (8-1). 

Team win totals: Mount Union has a conference singles record of 23-19 and a conference doubles record of 32-19. 

Marietta has a conference singles record of 18-22 and a conference doubles record of 8-13. 

Singles wins leaders: Nick Fockler (North Cantonb/Hoover), Ben Swope (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Dominic Marino (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) are all tied for the team-lead with 13 singles victories. Karl Grant and Ashton Whiteleather lead the Pioneers with nine singles victories.  

Doubles wins leaders: The pairing of Nick Fockler and Nate Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) lead the Raiders with a 10-7 doubles record. The pairing of Andy Knauff/Tanner Sigman lead the Pioneers with an 8-6 record. 

Series History: Mount Union has defeated Marietta in its last three matches.
