Men's Tennis Shuts Out Penn State-Behrend Friday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa. – The Mount Union men's tennis team swept Penn State-Behrend 9-0 Friday afternoon in Erie, Pa.

With the win Mount Union, is 2-0 on the season while the Lions drop to 1-2.

In all of its singles matches, the Purple Raiders were victorious in straight sets. Malcolm Leake (Fremont/Fremont Ross) defeated Guillermo Guillen in the number one singles match 6-3, 6-0. While Pat Yackmack (Mantua/Twinsburg) defeated Andrew Trinh 6-0, 6-1 in the number four singles. 

Rob DeMarco (North Canton/ Hoover) and Jeff Williams (Cleveland Heights/ St. Edwards) defeated Raphael Bretz and Sujyot Mony 8-1 in the number one doubles spot. While, Leake and Ben Swope(North Huntington, Pa./ Norwin) defeated Andrew Trinh and Guillermo Guillen 8-0 in the number two spot.

Yackmack and Christopher Adamasky (New Philadelphia/ New Philadelphia) defeated Nick Kapty and Terry Kowalskyj to finish out the sweep of the doubles matches for the Raiders 8-2.

Mount Union's next match is set for 3:30 p.m. in Grove City, Pa. against Grove City College.
