Men's Tennis: DeMarco Earns OAC Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Rob DeMarco (North Canton/Hoover) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for April 24-30. 

DeMarco went 4-0 last week in matches against Muskingum and Otterbein, and earned his 100th and 101st career wins after winning both of his matches at Muskingum University. 

He beat Muskingum's Levi Hall in first position singles (6-1, 6-0) to earn his 100th win, while he and teammate Jackson Schneider (Oregon, Wisc./Oregon) defeated Hall and Micah Keith in first doubles to seal his 101st career victory. 

Against Otterbein, DeMarco faced Perry Williams in first position singles, which he won 6-1 and 6-1. He earned his second doubles win of the week when he and Schneider defeated Tyler Wharton and Derek Kreiger 8-4.

Mount Union ended its regular season with an overall record of 14-5 and 7-1 in conference play. The Purple Raiders will next compete in the OAC Tournament, beginning Tuesday, May 2.
