Men's Tennis: Mount Union Awarded All-Academic Team by Intercollegiate Tennis Association

TEMPE, Ariz. - Mount Union's men's tennis team was one of 720 teams and five Purple Raiders were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the 2017 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes.

To qualify for the the team award, the program must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above according to a 4.00 scale. To receive individual recognition, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of 3.50 or a 4.00 scale and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters. 

Seniors Rob DeMarco (North Canton/Hoover) and Jeff Williams (Cleveland Heights/Lakewood St. Edward), Junior Jackson Schneider (Oregon, Wis./Oregon), Sophomore Matt Bringman (Strongsville/Strongsville) and Freshman Robert Cross (North Canton/Hoover) were the five Raiders recognized in Division III by the ITA.

The team finished their 2016-17 season with a record of 16-5 with a second-place finish in the OAC Tournament.
