Mount Union's Zach Teffner Named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union sophomore Zach Teffner (Cortland/Lakeview) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

In back-to-back conference matches, Teffner went undedeated with a pair of wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles with partner Robert Cross (North Canton/Hoover).

Against Muskingum, Mount Union shutout the Muskies with Teffner defeating Yozarbo Igari 6-1, 6-0 in singles and defeating the team of Levi Hall and Colin Keck 8-0.

Later in the week, Mount Union won their sixth straight match of the year in an 8-1 victory over Ohio Northern; Teffner winning 7-6, 6-2 in singles against Hoang Do and in doubles 8-4 against Vinh Thai and Hoang Do.

On the season, Teffner is 5-6 in singles play and 10-2 in doubles.

The Purple Raiders are back in action on Wednesday, April 11 as they host Marietta at 3:30 p.m. at the Whitehill Tennis Courts.
