Men's Tennis: Raiders Record Seventh Shutout of the Season; Defeats Capital, 9-0

BEXLEY, Ohio -- The Mount Union men's tennis team shutout Capital (5-8, 3-5 OAC) 9-0 Saturday afternoon while recording their seventh shutout of the season.

The Purple Raiders finish the regular season with an overall record of 13-3 and 7-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. 

Mount Union swept the doubles competition with a close and competitve match in the No. 1 pairing of Robert Cross (North Canton/Hoover) and Zach Teffner (Cortland/Lakeview), winning 9-8.

Going on to sweep the singles matches, Jackson Schneider (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) kept the shutout alive, winning in three sets with scores of 5-7, 7-6 and 10-5. 

Entering the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, Mount Union is the No. 2 seed. The Raiders will face the winner of the No. 3 vs. No. 6 seeded match on Friday, May 4 in the tournament semifinals in Mason, Ohio. For more tournament information, click here.
