Men's Tennis: Mount Union Drops Home Match Against Allegheny

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union men's tennis team suffered a 5-4 loss to Allegheny (Pa.) at home Tuesday afternoon. 

The Purple Raiders record is now 1-1 in the fall season. 

Mount Union came out with a 2-1 lead with a pair of wins in doubles from seniors Robert Cross (North Canton / Hoover) and Zach Teffner (Cortland / Lakeview) at No. 1 and senior Jacob Barton (Madison) and junior Jacob Labonte (Erie, Pa / Catherdral Prep) at No. 3. 

Allegheny (1-0) then won four out of the six singles matches. Mount Union's two wins came at No. 1 from Cross in two sets and at No. 4 from Tony Massucci (Ashtabula / St. John) also in two sets. 

The Raiders finish their fall season with a home match Friday, Sept. 27 against Franciscan at 3:30 p.m.
