Scott Thomas Named OAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

(AUSTINTOWN, OH)--Mount Union senior Scott Thomas (Salem/West Branch) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Thomas was part of three first place finishes that led Mount Union to a third place finish this past weekend at the OAC Relays at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea.

Thomas placed second overall in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.60 and combined with freshman Charles Pratt (Canton/GlenOak) to win the 55 meter dash relay.

Thomas also was on the winning sprint medley relay (3:36.24) with Pratt, junior Korey Smerk (Middleburg Heights/Midpark) and sophomore Tim Kelly (Lakewood/Lakewood) and 4x200 meter relay team (1:32.92) with with Pratt, Kris Claros (Miami, FL/Mirmar) and Brandon Stallworth (Cleveland Heights/Villa Angela St. Joseph).

Mount Union hosts the Jim Wuske Invitational next Saturday which will be the first indoor event in the newly remodeled Peterson Field House in Alliance.
