Men's 4x100 Relay Team Runs NCAA Provisional Time at Akron
AKRON, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's 4x100 meter relay team ran a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships Saturday at the Campbell Wright Open at The University of Akron.
The team of sophomores Alex Kovalik (Aurora/Aurora), Kadeem Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Hudson Catholic) and Chase Swisher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) along with junior Charles Pratt (Canton/GlenOak) ran a season-best time of 41.92 that currently places them 17th in the nation.
Swisher, who is ranked 20th in the nation in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.76, did not improve on that ranking as he ran a 10.84 today.
Johnson ran a season-best time of 10.90 while Pratt was 10.97 in the 100 meter dash.
Chase Clark (Belmont/Union Local) went 15-1 in the pole vault.
Mount Union will compete next week at the Allegheny Last Chance Meet on Friday, May 11 in Meadville, Pa.
