No. 6 ranked Mount Union men's track and field has six qualifiers to the NCAA Division III Championships this Friday and Saturday at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

All-American junior Sam Ludgood (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) and sophomore Tyler Mettille (Canfield/Canfield) have both qualified in two events.

Ludgood is ranked third in the triple jump (Saturday 11 am) and sixth in the long jump (Friday 4 pm).  He finished sixth in the triple jump at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships to earn All-American honors. Mettille is rated fourth in the heptathlon which is seven events -- 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meters.  He is also qualified in the 400 meter dash (preliminaries Friday 5:05 pm).  Mettille won Ohio Athletic Conference titles in 200 meters and 400 meters and was the conference's Sprinter of the Meet at the championships two weeks ago.

Sophomore Alex Kovalik (Aurora/Aurora) and freshman Andrew Milhoan (East Sparta/Sandy Valley) are also in the heptathlon as Kovalik, who was an All-American in the decathlon at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, is seeded eighth while Milhoan is seeded 12th.

Sophomore Sean Donnelly (Willoughby/Willoughby South) is seeded 10th in the shot put (Saturday 11 am) -- an event he was fifth and an All-American at the NCAA Outdoor Championships last year.

Freshman Rory Juhn (Fairview Park/Fairview) qualified in the high jump (Saturday 2:15 pm) and is seeded 11th.

The top eight finishers in each event will earn All-American honors.
