Mount Union's men's indoor track and field team, ranked No. 6 in the nation, looks for its fourth straight conference title at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Friday and Saturday at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders have won a conference record 34 indoor track and field team titles and have a number of athletes seeded high heading into the weekend.
Junior Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem), senior Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) and freshman Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shadyside Academy) not only are top seeds in their respective events but among the nation's best this year in NCAA Division III.
Wukotich tops the nation in the high jump, Orewiler is second in the nation in the pole vault while Berry is sixth in the 55 meter dash.
Senior Andrew Milhoan (East Sparta/Sandy Valley) and junior Darrell Sullins (Beachwood/Beachwood) are seeded 1-2 respectively in the 55 meter hurdles while senior Alex Wilson (Macedonia/Nordonia) is the top seed in the 5000 meters.
Junior Ty Menear (Brunswick/Brunswick) is seeded second in the 1000 meters, freshman Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) is the No. 2 seed in the 500 meters and sophomore Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) is in the second spot in the 400 meters.
Senior Tyler Shumate (Wapakoneta/Spencerville) is seeded third in the weight throw while the Raiders have four of the top eight seeds in the long jump led by sophomore Bailey Gannon (North Ridgeville/North Ridgeville) as the third seed.
Action begins Friday at noon and the meet runs through Saturday afternoon. The top three finishes in each event earn All-OAC honors.
