Track & Field: Orewiler All-American in Pole Vault, Berry in 60m Finals at NCAA Championships

GRINNELL, Iowa -- Mount Union senior Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) placed third in the pole vault to headline the Purple Raiders day at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships in Grinnell, Iowa.

Orewiler posted a mark of 16-feet, 8.75-inches and his third place finish makes him an All-American in the event for a second straight season.

Luke Winder of North Central (Ill.) won the event with NCAA Championship meet record mark of 18-feet, 1.75-inches.

Mount Union freshman Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shadyside Academy) placed seventh in the 60 meter preliminaries with a season-best time of 6.85 which qualifies him for finals Saturday at 4:15 p.m. and earns him All-American honors in the event.

Sophomore Dana Crofoot (Perry/Perry) also competed and finished 10th in the women's long jump with a mark of 17-feet, 9.5-inches.

Two other Mount Union student-athletes will compete on Saturday.

Junior Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem) is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the high jump with a mark of 7-feet, 0.25 inches.  He will jump Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (eastern) and is a two-time All-American in the event with a fifth place finish in 2014 and a sixth place finish last year.

Senior Jocelyn Sefick (Willowick/Eastklake North) is seeded seventh in the high jump with a mark of 5-feet, 7-inches.  Sefick has earned All-OAC honors three times in the high jump including a second place finish two week's ago at the OAC Championships. She will compete Saturday at 11a.m. (eastern).

The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American honors.
