Men's Track & Field: Raiders Win Nine Events at Season Opening Toy Drive Invite

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union men's track and field opened the indoor portion of the 2016-17 season hosting the Toy Drive Invite Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse.

The Purple Raiders won nine events at the meet while collecting toys for charity from fans and participating teams.

Brandon Cloud (Bedford/Bedford) won a pair of events as the junior took titles in the 60 meter dash (7.07) and long jump (22-7.25).

Junior Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) and senior Chad Bosel (Lisbon/David Anderson) each also won a two events as Neff won the 400 meters (50.11) while Bosel took the 1000 meters (2:43.34).

The duo were also part of the winning 4x800 meter relay team with junior Kyle Bolender (Dayton/West Carrollton) and freshman Jacob Meeks (Massillon/Jackson).

The other events wins came from junior Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) in the 200 meters (22.73), sophomore Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) in the 60 meter hurdles (8.24), seniors Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem) and Raphael Tshilkala (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) in the high jump (6-7) and triple jump (44-9.75) respectively.

Mount Union next competes at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Split Meet on January 20, 2017.
