ADA, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's indoor track and field team, ranked No. 14 in the nation, won the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet Saturday at Ohio Northern University.
The Purple Raiders amassed 209 points which was 61 points clear of second place Ohio Northern in the event that featured school's in the northern half of the conference.
Heidelberg was in third place with 80 points, Baldwin Wallace was in fourth with 74 while John Carroll was in fifth with 63 points.
Mount Union won six events on the day.
The 4x200 meter relay team of Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore), Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless), Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) and Josh Perry (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) posted a time of 1:31.50.
Also on the track, Mason Plant (Shreve/Triway) won the 60 meter hurdles (8.39), Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) won the 60 meter dash (6.94), Jake Meeks (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) won the 800 meters (2:03.73) and Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) won the 400 meters (51.53).
Raphael Tshikala (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) won a field event in the triple jump (43-9).
Mount Union returns to the track next week at the Spire Open at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
