AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union junior Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week.

Neff set a new school record and placed second in the 400 meters at 48.08 at the SPIRE Midwest Open at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

It is the best time in the event in the nation this season in NCAA Division III even after the time being converted since the SPIRE has a 300 meter indoor track.

Neff is a two-time All-American -- both in the 4x400 meter relay -- and is the defending Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor champion in the 400 meters.

Mount Union hosts the Jim Wuske Invitational this Saturday in Peterson Fieldhouse on campus in Alliance.
