Mount Union Track & Field Teams Look to Defend Titles at OAC Indoor Championships

Mount Union's men's and women's indoor track and field teams will look to defend their conference titles at the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea.

The Purple Raider men, ranked No. 13 in the nation, are looking for their fifth straight and conference record 36th team title with a number of athletes seeded high heading into the weekend.

Mount Union holds the top four seeds in the 55 meter hurdles with sophomore Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) leading the way.

Another sophomore in Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) has the top spot in the 55 meter dash as the Raiders have four of the top five seeds while Mount Union also has three of the four top spots in the 400 meters headlined by junior Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless).

Freshman AJ Digby (Tontogany/Ostego) has the top seed in the 500 meters while the relay team of freshman James Roth (Massillon/Massillon Perry) with sophomores Sam Printy (Sandusky/Perkins), Josiah Ross (Beloit/West Branch) and Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) have the top place in the 4x400 meter relay.

In the field events, both senior Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem) and freshman Matt Keim (Bolivar/Tuscarawas Valley) hold the top spots in the high jump and pole vault respectively.

The Mount Union women will be hunting for their sixth straight and seventh overall conference title.

The Raiders have the top four seeds and five of the top six seeds in the 200 meters led by senior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge).

Rinaldi is also the No. 2 seed in the 400 meters while also teaming with juniors Steph Donley (Carrollton/Carrollton), Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) and Dana Crofoot (Perry/Perry) for the top spot in the 4x200 relay.

Freshman Sarah Mason (Alliance/Marlington) is ranked No. 2 in the 500 meters while sophomore Hilary Reigle (Madison/Madison) and freshman Katie Durisin (Painesville/Riverside) are 2-3 in the 1000 meters.

Mason and Durisin are also with sophomore Toni Beuck (Cleveland/Villa Anglea-St. Joseph) and junior Rachel McGuire (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) are the top seed in the distance medley relay.
