CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's track & field team, ranked No. 20 in the nation, won four events and finished second at the Cedarville Open Saturday in Cedarville, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders racked up 155 points which was just 11 points behind meet winner and host NCAA Divsion II Cedarville (166 points).
Mount Union won four events on the day all in field events.
Senior Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem) won the high jump with a mark of 6-feet, 6-inches that is also the 15th best mark in NCAA Division III so far this season
Senior Jaquill Scott (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) won the javelin with a mark of 191-feet, 8-inches.
Senior Grant Slack (New Concord/John Glenn) won the triple jump with a mark of 42-feet, 11-inches.
Freshman Sean Sherman (Franklin / Bishop Fenwick) won the shot put at 53-feet, 3.5-inches.
There were also four second place finishes - sophomore Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) in the 100 meter dash (10.81), sophomore Austin Aikins (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) in the discus (140-4), senior Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore) and senior Matt O'Neil (Woodbridge, Va./Pope John Paul) in the 5000 meters (15:22.49).
Mount Union competes next Saturday at the Wooster Invitational at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
