AUSTINTOWN, Ohio --- Mount Union sophomore Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) and freshman Rachael Adams (Louisville/St. Thomas Aquinas) both earned Ohio Athletic Conference Men's & Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors.
Troyer set a stadium record with a career-best mark in the 110 meter hurdles to lead No. 20 ranked Purple Raider men's team to the title at the Wooster Track & Field Invitational last Saturday at the College of Wooster.
Troyer won the event with a career-best time of 14.54 that set a new stadium record and is the second best time in the nation in NCAA Division III so far this season.
He along with sophomore Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Shady Side Academy), senior Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville / Woodmore), junior Jalen McGill (Laurel, Md. / High Point) won the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.45.
Adams was part of a 4x100 meter relay team with fellow freshman Daijana Johnson (Alliance / Alliance) and juniors Steph Donley (Carrollton / Carrollton) and Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) posted a time of 47.28 which also set a stadium record at Wooster
Adams also was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.27.
Mount Union hosts the John Homon Open Saturday, April 8 at Mount Union Stadium.
