Men's Track & Field: No. 11 Mount Union Hits NCAA Provisional Marks in Five Events at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's track and field team, ranked No. 11 in the nation, had five season bests that were provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships Friday night at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet at Baldwin Wallace.

Two weeks from this weekend the top 20 times/marks in individual events and top 16 relay teams will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Mount Union at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Both the 4x400 meter and 4x100 meter relay teams punched their tickets to the national meet with strong showings.

The 4x400 team of Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless), James Roth (Massillon/Massillon Perry), Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) and A.J. Digby (Tontogany/Otsego) ran the best time in NCAA Division III so far this season covering the 1600 meters in 3:12.45.

The 4x100 team of Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy), Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth), Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore) and Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) ran the sixth best time in the nation this year at 41.27.

Sean Sherman (Franklin/Bishop Fenwick) threw the shot put 53-feet, 11-inches and is ranked No. 13 in the nation.

Shrewsbury also is now 15th in the nation in the 100 meters with a time of 10.68 while Digby also ran a season-best time of 48.05 in the 400 meters that stands 18th in the nation.

There will be one more week of last chance meets next week.
