Men's Track & Field: #8 Raiders Reach High Point in National Polls Week Before National Meet

NEW ORLEANS -- Mount Union's men's track and field team has reached its highest spot this season in the national rankings at No. 8 by United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Purple Raiders ran up the rankings on the strength of performances from its relay teams at last week's Harrison Dillard Twilight at Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio. 

The 4x400 team of Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless), James Roth (Massillon/Massillon Perry), Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) and A.J. Digby (Tontogany/Otsego) ran the second best time in NCAA Division III so far this season covering the 1600 meters in 3:12.45.

The 4x100 team of Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy), Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth), Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore) and Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) ran the sixth best time in the nation this year at 41.27.

The Raiders currently have nine individuals and two relay teams provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission May 25-27 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
