COLUMBUS, Ohio --There was an event win, two NCAA provisional marks and a school record to headline the day for the Mount Union indoor track and field teams Friday at the Buckeye Tune-Up at Ohio State University's French Fieldhouse.
Sophomore AJ Digby (Tontogany/Otsego) won the 400 meter dash to lead the No. 2 nationally ranked Mount Union men's team. Digby won the event with a time of 48.88 which was just 0.04 seconds off his season-best time and was just ahead of his teammate senior Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) in second at 50.19.
The big NCAA provisional marks came from sophomore Matt Keim (Bolivar/Tusky Valley) in the pole vault, who had a season-best mark of 16-feet, 9.5-inches which placed third, was a season-best and the third-best in NCAA Division III this season and sophomore Sean Sherman (Hamilton/Bishop Fenwick) in the shot put, who had a season-best mark of 53-feet, 2.75-inches that sits 10th in NCAA Division III this season.
Another second place finish came from senior Raphael Tshikala (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) in the triple jump with a mark of 45-feet, 10-inches.
On the women's side, junior Hilary Reigle (Madison) posted a school record time in the 3,000 meters at 10:15.02 and sophomore Rachael Adams (Louisville/St. Thomas Aquinas) also placed second in the 200 meters (25.68).
Mount Union is back in action Saturday hosting the Raider Tune-Up at Peterson Fieldhouse on campus.
