NEW ORLEANS -- Mount Union's men's indoor track and field team remained ranked third in this week's NCAA Division III national rankings done by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
North Central (Ill.) tops the rankings, followed by Wisconsin-Oshkosh with Wisconsin-Whitewater in fourth and M.I.T. rounding out the top five.
Mount Union edged out North Central for the men's indoor title a year ago.
The Purple Raiders are coming off a solid showing against mostly NCAA Division I competition at last week's Youngstown State Invitational.
Junior AJ Digby (Tontogany / Otsego) won the 500 meters as he ran a time of 64.79 which was less than a second from his own school record in the event.

Plant placed third with a time of 8.01 which was just .01 away from his own school record in the event and is currently the top time in NCAA Division III while Troyer was right behind him in fourth at 8.16 that stands eighth nationally.
Cooper was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 51-feet, 11-inches which is seventh-best in NCAA Division III.
