Mount Union Sweeps OAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards.

The 4x400 meter relay team of seniors Sam Printy (Sandusky / Perkins) and Clark Etzler (Elida) along with juniors James Roth (Massillon / Perry) and AJ Digby (Tontogany / Otsego) claimed OAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week of honors by posting the top time in the nation in the event at 3:15.72 at last week's SPIRE Midwest Open in Geneva, Ohio.

Etzler, Roth and Digby were members of the relay team last year that won both indoor and outdoor national titles in the event.

Senior Lucas Cooper (Hanoverton / United Local) also nabbed OAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors as he placed second in the shot put at the SPIRE Midwest Open with a mark of 54-feet, 1-inch, which ended up being third nationally in the event.

Mount Union hosts the Jim Wuske Inviational this Saturday, Feb. 2 at Peterson Fieldhouse on campus.
