WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union, ranked No. 3 in the nation, extended its streak of team titles to eight at the All-Ohio Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at Otterbein University in Westerville.
The Purple Raiders won four events including the men's 4x400 meter relay as the team of Isaac Phillips (Milford, Mich.), Mitchell Milem (Columbus / St. Charles), Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) and Dylon Campbell (Cuyahoga Falls) won the event with 124 points which tied host Otterbein for the team title.
Mount Union went 1-2 in pair of events with Roth (48.98) and Digby (49.32) in the 400 meters and Sean Sherman (Franklin / Bishop Fenwick) and Lucas Cooper (Hanoverton / United Local) in the shot put. Sherman posted an NCAA provisional mark of 54-feet, 6.75-inches, which is currently fifth-best in the nation.
Freshman Jacob Shedd (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) nabbed a pair of second place finishes in the long jump (22-2.25) and triple jump (44-3.25) while Evan Hershberger (Dalton) was second in the high jump (6-8.25).
Mount Union hosts the Raider Tune-Up next Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse before the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 22-23 at Ohio Northern University in Ada.
