Men's Track and Field: Nine Event Wins For Raiders in Opening Outdoor Meet

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Mount Union's men's track and field team won nine events at its first meet of the outdoor season -- the Mary Washington Opener Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

One week after winning the national title in the 60 meter hurdles, Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.48 which is the second-best time in NCAA Division III early in the outdoor season.

Another NCAA provisional qualifying time came from James Roth, who ran a time of 48.99 to win the 400 meters.

Mount Union also got wins from Evan Hershberger (Dalton) in the high jump, Alex Bryan (Geneva) in the 800 meters, Mitchell Milem (Columbus / St. Charles Prep) in the 400 meter hurdles, Jon Bach (Tallmadge) in the 5000 meters and Garrett Daniello (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) in the javelin.

Milem also combined with Isaac Phillips (Milford, Mich.), Dylon Campbell (Cuyahoga Falls), Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) to win the 4x400 meter relay.

Darian Littlejohn (Fulton, Md. / Reservoir), Gill, Alex Leeper (Cambridge) and Zack Munchick (Westfield Center / Cloverleaf) also won the 4x100 meter relay.

Mount Union will host the Stark County Challenge next Friday, March 22 against both Walsh and Malone at Mount Union Stadium.
