Track and Field: Raiders Run in Final Tune-Up Before OAC's

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- The No. 3 ranked Mount Union men's track and field team won 11 events at the Wittenberg Invitational Friday in Springfield.

It is the final tune-up for the Purple Raiders before next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Championship meet at Otterbein in Westerville.

Mount Union's wins came from Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) in the 200 meters (22.80), Sean Sherman (Franklin / Bishop Fenwick) in the shot put (50-4.75), Lucas Cooper (Hanoverton / United Local) in the discus (154-0), Kyle Dunn (Sugarcreek / Garaway) in the pole vault (10-7), Evan Hershberger (Dalton) in the high jump (6-4.75), Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) in the 110 meter hurdles (14.61), Clark Etzler (Elida) in the 400 meters (51.01), Alex Bryan (Geneva) in the 800 meters (2:00.46), Marcus Day (Winchester / Eastern Brown) in the javelin (147-9) and the 4x100 meter relay team of Darian Littlejohn (Fulton, Md. / Reservoir), Malik Britt (Bossier City, La. / Airline), Josh Perry (Cuyahoga Falls) and AJ Digby (Tontogany / Otsego) with a time of 43.19.

On the women's side, the Raiders picked up five wins from Aubrey Fruchey (Columbus Grove) in the hammer throw (143-4) Bri Aveni (Geneva) in the pole vault (10-7), Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) in the high jump (4-11.75), Sabrina Stocker (Madison) in the 100 meter hurdles (14.84) and Emily Henson (Hamilton / Badin) in the 800 meters (2:27.60).
