Men's Volleyball: Raiders Split Tri-Match at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Mount Union's men's volleyball team got a 3-0 sweep of Wilson (Pa.) but dropped a 3-2 match to Elizabethtown (Pa.) in a tri-match at Elizabethtown.

The scores against Wilson were 25-20, 25-23, 25-15 as Mark Bruns (Columbus / Upper Arlington) had 12 kills, Jeremy Leyden (Cuyahoga Falls / Akron Hoban) had 32 assists while Steven Greiner (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich) and Austin Sibbel (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) had eight digs and Kaleb Krebs (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton La Salle) had three blocks.

The Purple Raiders .267 team hitting percentage was the third best hitting game of the season.

Mount Union won the first two games against Elizabethtown 25-19 and 25-15 but the Blue Jays came back to win 25-23, 25-22 and 15-9 to get the match.

Bruns had 23 kills, Leyden with 42 assists and 17 digs while Sam Matonis had seven blocks.

Mount Union plays another tri-match next Friday, March 15 against Thiel and Neumann in Greenville, Pa.
