Men's Volleyball: Sibbel, Grenier, Leyden Named All-MCVL

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - Three Mount Union men's volleyball student-athletes have been named to the 2020 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League teams.

Junior outside hitter Justin Sibbel (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) was named to first team, while sophomore libero Steven Grenier (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich) and sophomore setter Jeremy Leyden (Cuyahoga Falls / Akron Hoban) were named to second team. 

This is Sibbel's first All-MCVL selection after Mount Union joined the league this season. Sibbel lead the Purple Raiders with 212 kills (4.24 k/s) in 12 matches with a .284 hitting percentage, ranking him second in the conference.  Sibbel recorded a career-high 33 kills against Mount Saint Joseph's (3/7)

Grenier earned his first All-MCVL selection after starting in all 14 matches. He led the team in digs with 183 ranking him second in the conference, while his 3.27 digs per set ranked first. 

Leyden was named an All-MCVL selection for the time in is career. Leyden recorded 538 assists (9.61 a/s), ranking him first on his team and in the conference. He received a Player of the Week accolade (1/29) after reaching 1,000 career assists. 

The Raiders finished their season 11-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference after an early end due to COVID-19.
