Mount Union Sports Information Honored By AVCA

The American Volleyball Coaches Association has recognized Mount Union as the top sports information office in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League for this past season.

The Mount Union office is led by sports information director Leonard Reich and assistant sports information directors MacKenzie Hatch and Casey Kropka. Hatch was the primary media contact for the men's volleyball team.

"This is really a team award as MacKenzie, Casey and all of our student workers have worked really hard with our men's volleyball team," commented Reich. "Also big thanks to Coach Mihelic and entire team for working with us."

Reich has led the sports information office at Mount Union for 12 years and has been an SID for 23 years. He was the recepient the Warren Berg Award from the College Sports Information Directors of America in 2019 for his work and contributions to the professionk, currently serves on the CoSIDA Board of Directors and is a past-president of the Division III Sports Information Directors Association.

Men's Volleyball started as a varsity sport in 2019 and Purple Raiders began play in the MCVL in 2020. Matt Milhelic finished his second season as head coach and Mount Union had an 11-3 record when the 2020 season was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
