Men's Cross Country 3rd at OAC Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio--Mount Union's men's cross country team finished third at the Ohio Athletic Conference men's cross country championships at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.

Senior Bryce Basista (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) finished in fifth place and junior Ty Griffin (Massillon/Massillon Perry) finished in ninth place both earned all-conference honors to lead the Purple Raiders.

Sophomore Tim Kelly (Lakewood/Lakewood) placed 14th, senior Dan Whisler (Marietta/Marietta) in 26th and sophomore Erik Reed (East Liverpool/East Liverpool) in 27th rounded out the team scoring.

Mount Union's 79 points left them behind Ohio Northern (49 pts) while Heidelberg won the title with 42 points.

The Raiders run in two weeks at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN.
